Gerard Moon, baritone, has been praised by OperaWire as “From the moment he walked on stage it was evident that this was a singer with authority and command and incredible stage presence,” and by the Lexington Herald-Leader as “a strong voice, impeccable diction, and a huge sense of fun.”

A native of South Korea, Mr. Moon is recognized for his rich and lyrical baritone voice. He has studied and performed extensively across the United States, Italy, Austria, the Czech Republic, New Zealand, Australia, Brazil, and throughout Asia.

Mr. Moon pursued his Doctor of Musical Arts after earning his Master of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Kentucky, where he studied under the tutelage of Cynthia Lawrence. During his academic career, he received numerous honors, including the Alltech Vocal Scholarship, National Society of Arts and Letters Award, Outstanding Graduate Music Student Award, and the Tom Getchell Scholarship.

Mr. Moon’s versatile and expressive voice allows him to perform a wide range of demanding baritone roles. His operatic repertoire includes Gérard (Andrea Chénier), Tonio (Pagliacci), Angelotti (Tosca), Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Germont (La Traviata), Ford (Falstaff), Don Giovanni and Leporello (Don Giovanni), Il Conte (Le Nozze di Figaro), Rigoletto (Rigoletto), Dr. Miracle/Coppélius (The Tales of Hoffmann), Schaunard (La Bohème), Belcore (L’elisir d’amore), French General (Silent Night), Yamadori (Madama Butterfly), Osiride (Mosè), and Dr. Falke (Die Fledermaus).

Currently residing in Delaware, Mr. Moon is an active Company Artist with OperaDelaware, where he continues to engage audiences through dynamic performances and community involvement.
